In these pages all questions put up by Yudhishthir to Bheeshm are given in red. Bheeshm's answers are not given here in full, only some main important points, which may be relevant to our modern lives, are given. [12-284] Janamejaya said - "Yudhishthir asked - "How Daksh's, the son of Prachetaa, Ashwamedh Yagya was destroyed during the Vaivaswat Manu period? Knowing that Umaa got filled with wrath, Mahaadev also filled with wrath and then how his body was restored, I wish to hear this, please tell me as it occured." Vaishampaayan Jee said - "In the olden days, once Daksh prepared for a Yagya on Himvant Parvat. Many gods with their wives, Gandharv, Apsaraa, Siddh, Rishi, Pishaach, Naag came to attend that Yagya. The two Gandharv Haahaa and Hoohoo, Tumburu and Naarad, Vishwaavasu and Vishwasen, the Aaditya, Vasu and Rudra, all came there to share in the Yagya. All other creatures also came there. Seeing all of them Maharshi Dadheechi got filled with grief and rage and said - "This is neither a sacrifice nor an auspicious religious rite because Rudra is not present here. You are certainly exposed to death.
