Jaya according to Kataapayaadi is 18. Here is what Kataapayaadi is. In case of combined letters the last letter is to be used. Independent vowels are all zeros. In Karnatak music this is used to indicate the rank of Melakarta Raag. For example, Khara-Harapriya is the name of the Raag. Khara meaning 22 is added to mean that it is the 22nd Raag. So it is called Khara Harapriya.

If separately used Prithvi denotes 1, Aap denotes 2. Tejas denotes 3, Vaayu denotes4 and Aakaash denotes 5. If Bhot word is used, it denotes 5. I am now quoting from Varaah Mihir's Brihat Jaatak --
