The difference between these two planets is stunning - the Guru is in Shani's Pushya Nakshatra, which establishes spiritual atmospheres, and Mercury is in Swa-Nakshatra in Aashleshaa, which is very deceptive, to say the least. The current transiting Guru is now in Aslesha, shining light on this entire affair, whatever it may truly be at bottom.

In the Navaansh, the ascendant is Vargottama, Ketu goes to the seventh, and the ruler of the 7th (Saturn) goes to the 9th House. That's exactly the same message as having the Guru for Dar Kaarak - the native is going to learn lawfulness, and a relationship with a Guru is likely to have more significance and longevity than a marriage.

In all of this, one must see the fruition of some pretty difficult karma. There has been lawlessness, and in the present there is at least the temptation to lawlessness.

I would suggest Ganapati Puja, with great vigor, persistence, and sincerity. The Venus Mahaa-dashaa drags on for 20 years, and this Venus-Venus Antardashaa will be going on until 2005.

Neeraj Gupta - I recall that you were having some relationship problems. If that is correct start fasting on UL days. It will help. I read it from VRA and also Guru Visti and Ashwin advised me. I am benefited by fasting on UL days.

To propitiate Venus, related donation might be given or the 108 names of Venus might be recited. Lakshmee Mantra is also said to be good. There are text available on the net for the 108 names but please be cautious since there might be errors. I had a real tough time to correct the 108 names of Mars since I also had to read the wrong ones and faced very tough and dangerous events.
Fasting on UL days and on Fridays is doubtlessly a very good idea.
