Sakat Chauth

Sakat Chauth is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Ganesh in a traditional Hindu lunar month of Maagh. It falls on Maagh Krishn 4th. Many people keep this fast every month on Krishn 4th. This is very popular monthly fast dedicated to Vinaayak in India. Devotees observe a fast (fasting or Upavaas) on this day from sunrise and ends after sighting the Moon.

On this special day of Maagh Mas, they recite Ganesh Stuti, do Jaap of his Mantra, and offer Prasaad (Naivedya) of sweets made with Til (sesame seeds), eat delicous food after sighting the Moon.
