Introduction to Kausheetakee Upanishad

The Kausheetakee Upanishad is more popularly known as Kausheetakee Braahman Upanishad, like the Aitareya Upanishad. It is based on Rig Ved. Though it is called the Kausheetakee Braahman Upanishad, it does not form part of the Kausheetakee Braahman in 30 chapters (Adhyaaya) which we possess, and we must therefore account for its name by admitting that the Aaranyak, of which it formed a portion, could be reckoned as part of the Braahman literature of the Rig Ved, and that hence the Upanishad might be called the Upanishad of the Braahman of the Kausheetakee.
