4-Sheikh Chillee Counts the Houses

Once it so happened that a Zameendaar (Landlord) called for Sheikh Chillee. Now this Zameendaar was a very dishonest man. When Sheikh Chillee came to him, he asked him to count all the houses in the village. He said - "I will pay you 20 Paise per house." Sheikh Chillee went to count the houses. He worked hard to earn a little money. He worked for several hours going through the lanes and streets of the village. By the evening, he gave the number of the houses and received the money according to his promise.

Later Sheikh Chillee's friends came to know about this, so they came to him and said - "O Friend, You should have talked to us first before working for him. Don't you know that he is the most dishonest person in the village?" His another friend said - "I am sure he must have cheated you." Sheikh Chillee said - "No, It does not seem so that he has cheated me."

His another friend spoke - "But how are you sure that he has not cheated you?"
"Because this time I have cheated him." Sheikh Chillee replied looking very pleased in his heart.
"How did you cheat him?"
"I cleverly gave him a smaller number than what I counted."
