9-Aalhaa Oodal

"Aalhaa Oodal Bade Ladaiyaa Jinase Haar Gayee Talavaar" - Such was the glory of Aalhaa Odal. Their story is written in poetry which is still sung in Bundelkhand region of India. According to folklore, Aalhaa was undefeatable. He was made immortal by Devee Shaaradaa. This Shaaradaa Mandir is in Maihar, in Satanaa district in Madhya Pradesh. It has 1063 steps to reach the top. Aalhaa offered Devee his head cut by the sword. Pleased with this Devee made him immortal.

Alhaa was the General with Chandelaa King Paramadi Dev (Paramal) who fought with Prithvee Raaj Chauhaan.

Aalhaa had a sword given by his uncle Paramal, the ruler of Mahobaa. That sword is said to be Divine and no weapon could face it. Paramal raised Oodal as his own son as he was born after the death of his father Desh Raaj. Desh Raaj was the General with Paramal and was killed in his service only.

Paramal had a battle with Prithvee Raaj III in c 1182 AD.

They left Chandelaa and went to Raajaa Jayachand at Kannauj.

Seen Prithvee Raaj Chauhaan's fall Aalhaa was stopped to kill him by his Guru as his Guru said that Aalhaa wanted to kill him only to take revenge of killing his younger brother Oodal.
