45-Mahaaraaj

You might have noticed that in North Indian houses, or otherwise, the cook are called Mahaaraaj Jee. Have you ever thought that why is it so? Why are they called as Mahaaraaj Jee?

When Raajaa Nal had lost all his kingdom etc in Dice game with his brother Pushkar, he left his kingdom and went to forest. Later he had to take the refuge in the palace of Rituparn, King of Ayodhyaa, a Soorya Vanshee king. he had changed his name as Baahuk to hide his identity. He said that could take care of horses and become a charioteer there. He also said that he was an expert cook. Rituparn appointed him as his chief cook too. Nal knew the best way of cooking and it was called Nal Paak.

Since he was a king, and a king is called Mahaaraaj in Hindi, he was called Mahaaraaj.
That is why in North India, a cook is called Mahaaraaj.
