19-Kuntee

Durvaasaa's Mantra
If Durvaasaa gave Mantra to Kuntee as we know it - the following doubts arise -

(1) Is the Mantra transferable? Durvaasaa Rishi was pleased with Kuntee, that is why he gave that Mantra to Kuntee. Is it possible that Kuntee could transfer it to Maadree? How could Maadree, without doing anything for Durvaasaa Rishi, get the benefit of his "boon"? Can anyone please cite even a single instance of "transferable-boon"? I would be glad to know of it.

(2)) If Durvaasaa gave Mantra to Kuntee, there should be consistency in how the Mantra is applied. If we read how Kuntee applied it in the three cases, we find, each time the mode of application was different. If the Mantra could tame any God, why would Paandu and Kuntee had to undertake penance for 1 year to please Indra? Indra should have come wagging tail had Kuntee just applied the Mantra.

(3) Maadree just remembers the Ashwins, and they come. How can Maadree improve upon the mode of application? She gets it secondhand, and then surpasses even Durvaasaa and Kuntee. It seems odd.

Paandu undertakes a year long vow with Kuntee because he wants to please the king of the gods and wants Kuntee to be purified for this (the same reason for which Vyaas Jee urged that Ambikaa and Ambaalikaa should undertake a year long vow of purification, but was overruled by Satyavatee who couldn't wait for an heir). This Mantra is a black-magic product, not something which a Guru gives in initiation to a particular pupil, that is why it can be shared with others.
