Episode 83
Killing of Mahaanand (contd...)
Chaanakya further said - "Because he was the son of his father Mahaanand's very dear maid. he was appointed as the barber - to trim the nails, to shave of all the princes and the father too. Seeing this the Army General got pity on him and he started getting favors from him. Although the Army general could not tolerate any injustice but since he was the King's servant that is why he was helpless regarding Mahaapadm Nand. Mahaapadm said - "Here there is not even any justice, leave Dharm. My father does not want to give me even his name. Is this the Kshatriya Dharm?"

Army General said - "Life is useless without respect." Padm said - "If I had been the King, you must have been standing for me, figting for me, but how can I be a King? Whatever is happening me now this is happening with me because I am the son of a maid. O Army general, Will you tech me weaponry and fighting?" "Yes." And this Army General taught him weaponry and fighting.

If a human being holds to discipline and Dharm to get success, he will be successful. But Mahaapadm adopted the path of cheating. He chose the same day to become the King on which his father was to become 60 years old. The King appointed that Army General for the security on his birthday. Although Mahaapadm was not invited in his celebrations but still he went in the palace with a certain plan. He had nine sons. He had already told them about his plan. When he was entering the palace, his Army General did his security check. He asked what was in his small box he was carrying in the palace. Showing it he said - "A little gift to my father." It had a few perfumes to present the gift to his father on his birthday. he let Mahaapadm go inside. Actually below the perfumes he had hidden some knives in that box. When all had entered the palace, he gave one knife each to his sons and again explained them his plan. They would attack all of them together at the same moment - at noon hour. By doing this either they would become the king or they would spend their lives in hell.

Mahaapadm went in the palace and according to his plan, at about noon time he started shaving his father. The father said - "Today I am very happy that our whole family is all around today." "But my sons and I nave not been invited in your family?"
Mahaanand said - "We have done everything what we could." "But I have always been the ----
"You know that whatever has happened with you, we have always been sorry for that, will you not pardon us even today?"
The then the conch was blown and Mahaapadm and his 9 sons had cut the necks of the King and his sons together.
Mahaapadm came out of the palace and sat on the throne and declared himself the new king of Magadh, as he was the living person from Mahaanand's family. Many guards tried to kill Mahaapadm but could not kill him and he started ruling.
Thus Shishunaag Vansh was ended by cheating.

Establishment of Nand Dynasty
But that Army general (who taught weaponry to Mahaapadm) did not leave his Kshatriya Dharm, so he built his small army and started fighting with Mahaapadm Nand. Fighting continued for some time, then one day Mahaapadm called the Army General to have a friendly talk, but the Army general told him that he could not be his friend, as he killed the King by cheating. But in the last the Army general agreed and he came for the talk. When he came Mahaapadm proposed for a friendly embrace ast time, and when he came to embrace Mahaapadm, Mahaapadm killed him by hitting his dagger in his back. He said to hom - "I told you that there is nothing like Dharm here, there is only politics."
The Arny General said dying - "One day somebody will also kill you like this." he then crowned Dhanaanand as King of Magadh.

Now Mahaapadm was not a Kshatrya, so he hated Kshatirya. He started expanding his army and he started calling Kshatriya from Raaj Griha and made them joined the army's front part soldiers. Thus they were getting killed. After killing Mahaanand, Mahaapadm brought his capital from Raaj Griha to Paataliputra but has been bringing those Kshatriya here from Raaj Griha. Your father also came here with your mother, and he was also killed like this fighting. Your mother told me all this when I went to her to take you to Takshshilaa. Even today, Dhanaa Nand send them in the front part of the army to die without weapons and without training."

Chandragupt said - "Now I understood, as why did you bring me here in Raaj Griha." Chandragupt took the vow that he would take revenge with Dhanaa Nand and he would build his army from here only.

Episode 84-86
Chandragupt Builds His Army of Villagers
Chaanakya ordered Chandragupt to train the remaining people of that village. At the same time some Padaati were about to enter the Mrityu Dwaar (Death Gate). Seeing them entering the Death Gate, Chandragupt got excited and said - "I will not let them go in." and he kept them back saying - "I will not let the King kill you like this. I am building an army against Dhanaanand, it will destroy Nand. Good warriors will train you and then we will kill Nand." But first they do not believe him and as the bell rang to enter they entered the Gate. CHandragupt looked at Chaanakya but Chaanakya let them go.

Gajabaahu was taking them inside. Chaanakya said - "Gajabaahu is very cruel Army General. And this is called Mrityu Dwaar (Death Gate) because whoever goes inside through this Gate, he never comes back alive." Chandragupt said - "But this is tyranny on these people." Chaanakya said - "Where they will go, because they do not have any alternative. If they will not go their family members will also be killed. These people are so accustomed of such life that they cannot think of any other kind of life other than this. Now you have to show them a new life. If you have to defeat Dhanaanand, then first you protect these people and get their self confidence back. When people live with ill will for a long time, they cannot consider that ill will as ill will but it seems to them as a good thing. Every pessimist sees difficulties in everything; while optimist sees the same as an opportunity. Know the Time - only the heart beat of Time is the possibility." Chandragupt was thinking what to do. He needed strong will power and desire to make continuous efforts. Chaanakya explained him that these things are in one's inside, keep patience. Patience gives you appropriate opportunity."

At the same time Chandragupt saw that soldier, Chaitanya, who was going to be executed by death. Chaanakya immediately said - "Go and save him." Chandra saved him and he became faithful to Chandragupt. In fact he had a family. His wife was going to deliver his baby anytime and he wanted to see his baby, that is why he was running away from the Death Gate. Chandragupt assured him that he would take him to his wife and he would be able to see his newborn child. Chaanakya said - "Go, help his family and now build your army." Chandragupt went to his house with him and they saw that his wife delivering his child. In the meantime the Army General of Magadh, Gajabaahu, came there to look for Chaitanya. He asked Chaitanya to run away with his wife and child and that he would face those people. Chaitanya kept them in a cart and ran away from there. Chandragupt defeated those soldiers and joined Chaitanya. They came to Chaanakya and Chaanakya named the boy Udaya. Chaanakya said to Chaitanya - "Till the wife and children are there, a kind of fear is always in the mind, so better you leave them somewhere at a safe place." Then he said to Chandragupt - "You go with him and come back soon."

Dhanaanand started making preparation for Durdharaa's Swayamvar. He said to Amaatya - "Whoever is invited, if he does not come, keep in mind about the punishment also as what punishment you will give to him?" Nand told Durdharaa that this Swayamvar will be a grand celebration. Bhadrasaal was also hearing this. Seeing him Durdharaa went away from there. Bhadrasaal was thinking how to ask Durdharaa's hand from Nand. Nand ordered Bhadrasaal to go to Raaj Griha and bring double the number of Padaati army. And come back from there one day before the Swayamvar." He further says to him - "My daughter goes to Sahaal, there you save her from Chandragupt, and after coming here she proposes for her Swayamvar. Tell me what is in your mind?" Bhadrasaal says - This will be fortunate for me that I should attend Durdharaa's Swayamvar." Dhanaanand said - "But you will not be the member of this family so easily. If you think that you are qualitative, then prove your qualities and use them. If you want to marry my daughter, arrest Chaanakya and Chandragupt."

When Chaanakya heard that Bhadrasaal was coming to Raaj Griha, he said to Chandragupt - "If Bhadrasaal will come here, our difficulties will increase." Bhadrasaal came to Raaj Griha in the expectation to arrest Chaanakya and Chandragupt. Gajabaahu welcomed him. Bhadrasaal said - "I have not come here myself, Dhanaanand had sent me there. Now tell me is everything all right?" Gajabaahu said - "Yes, Everything is all right, and you may go back." "I will not go back until I see that boy."

Chaanakya said - "As many people have faith in you, your power of bringing change is increased. I have full faith that he would be able to bring all of them back." Chandra had to fight with many people. Chaanakya and other people were waiting for them outside the Death Gate. After a while they all saw that the Death Gate opened and Chandragupt was coming out of that gate with other people. Everybody was very happy. Chaanakya said - "The difference between Possible and Impossible is of only Faith. You may not have faith in books, you may not have Faith in your traditions, but at least have Faith on your eyes. Have Faith in logical things. Now you have Faith in Chandragupt and be with us to defeat Nand. So who is with us?" First Chaitanya came to Chaanakya, then many others also came with him eventually. Some still did not come to him, so he said to them - "All right, If you do not fight with the enemy from our side do not fight, but at least do not be with the enemy against us. At least be with your conscious." Hearing this many others also joined him.
