What does Deergh Aayushmaan Bhavah really mean?

Four or five learned people who had come for Darshan of Kaanchee Mahaa Periyavaal, were sitting before him. In the course of his conversation (with the devotees), Periyavaal asked them - "When Bhakt do Namaskaaram to me, I bless them by uttering 'Naaraayan, Naaraayan' . What do you people who are Sansaaree say for blessing?"

They said - "We say - 'Deergh Aayushmaan Bhavah'; that is the custom."
"What does it mean?"
"Remain Saukhyam for a long time' is its meaning." Periyavaa asked all the learned people present there, one by one and everyone said the same meaning.

Periyavaal remained in silence for sometime, then he said - "The meaning you all said is a wrong one."
The learned people were taken aback. For the Sanskrit Vaakya "Deergh Aayushmaan bhavah" even those with a little knowledge of Sanskrit can tell the meaning. Such simple words! Yet Periyavaal says the meaning is wrong?
"Shall I tell it myself.....? "
The learned people sharpened their ears.

"Of the twenty-seven Yog, one is named Aayushmaan. Of the eleven Karan, one is the called the Bhava. Among the week days, the Saumya Vaasar falls on a Wednesday. When all these three - on a Wednesday, the Aayushmaan Yog and the Bhava Karan -- occur together, that day is said to be Shlaagya. Therefore, if these three occur together, whatever good Phal would be got, I bless that you may get all those Phal...". This is what it means." concluded Mahaa Periyavaal to their astonishment.
