9-Mouse The following writing is not directly related to Ganesh Jee, but suggests a thought about his ride mouse... There is an interesting incident about mouse of computer. Prof Abdul Salam of Pakistan came to India in 1981 after getting Nobel prize. When asking about philosophical foundation of his theory, he told that our (including his) Vedaant is a continuous theory, so he has given field equations. TORA was discrete, so Jew scientists gave discrete Quantum Theory. He quoted some verses from Upanishad also. Although it was looking odd a Muslim was teaching Vedaant to a Braahman - he too told the same when his version was countered. We told that Vedaant was both discrete and continuous. Discrete theory about objects which can be counted, so it is Ganesh (Gan means Gananaa and Eesh means Lord, so Ganesh means Lord of counting). Abstract thought is not countable, it is Rasa and its source is Saraswatee. We had only one evidence for that idea - Mangalaacharan of Raam Charit Maanas by Tulasee Daas where he has jointly prayed Ganesh and Saraswatee - though no body has explained it in that way. Prof Salam was very happy to hear that nobody had thought about it and advised us to write on astronomy and Ved. So one of us wrote --
Example : that analog computer is Saraswatee and digital is Ganesh. Till today, we are not sure whether Salam popularized this name for computer mouse or it accidentally was named like this.
