Introduction to Krishn

Krishn needs no introduction but still... He is a the most popular deity in India, especially in its northern part. He is most remembered worldwide for His Geetaa discourse to Arjun. Geetaa has been translated in more than 70 languages. Among the folks of India His childhood stories are very common. During that period He is popularly known as "Maakhan Chor" (thief of butter), and as He grows a little more, He is known as "Gopiyon Ka Kaanhaa" (Krishn of Gopee). His later life (adult life) is mostly unknown to public except Geetaa discourse.

I have described His life in Hindi language poetry which is given here as Shree Krishn Leelaamrit. This part is, in fact is the 10th Skandh of Shree Mad-Bhaagvat Puraan. Since Geetaa is a part of His life, it has been included that too, but separately. Although Geetaa link can be followed from anywhere in Krishn's biography but chronologically it comes after Shishupaal Uddhaar.
