Sulochanaa
[From Raamaayan]

Sulochanaa was the daughter of Shesh Naag and the wife of Raavan's son Meghnaad. In devotion she is often compared with Seetaa and Draupadee. When Lakshman had killed Meghnaad, she went to the battlefield, brought the severed head of her husband by the permission of Shree Ram and became Satee carrying it in her lap.

Legend has it, that she had so much power of being Satee that, when Meghnaad was killed, his one severed blood filled arm fell in the courtyard of Sulochanaa's palace. She got surprised to see it and asked it to write the name of his killer. It is believed that it wrote the name of Lakshman as his killer.

She was very brave. When Meghnaad was going to battlefield to fight with Raam and Lakshman, she never wept or never asked him not to go to the battlefield. It is very unfortunate that her name is neither mentioned in Tulasee's Maanas, nor in Vaalmeeki's Raamaayan.
