Gaj Kesaree Yog

Chaandaal Yog
see Guru Chaandaal Yog below

Chandra-Mangal Yog
Chandra with Mangal together make "Chandra Mangal Yog".

Gaj Kesaree Yog
When Moon and Guru are together, they make "Gaj Kesaree Yog". But if the Moon and the Jupiter have a mutual aspect on each other, it does not create a pure Gaj Kesaree Yog. In traditional astrology this Yog is considered good.

Grahan Yog
Moon with Raahu makes Grahan Yog.

Griha Mallikaa Yog
In this Yog, a minimum of 5 Houses are occupied by 7 planets and no House is vacant in between. In case where Yog starts from angular houses, this Yog gives strong results. If the planets in commencing house and also the planets in the ending house are well placed, these Yog yield to powerful auspicious results. The planets may occupy consecutively 6 Houses also. If planets occupy 7 Houses then it falls in Ardh Chandra Yog category. Ramanujacharya in 'Bhaavaarth Ratnaakar', Ch 14, have dealt Graha Mallikaa Yog in detail but including Raahu and Ketu also. In such cases Graha Mallika Yog can extend up to 9 consecutive Houses (instead of 7 Houses as in Ardh Chandra Yog). Dr. B V Raman had dealt these Yog in detail in his famous commentary on this classic.

Guru-Chaandaal Yog (GCY)
Some experts insist that GCY only applies when Guru joins Raahu in the 6th House in a horoscope. Affliction of Jupiter by Raahu is called as Guru Chaandaal Yog. Raahu being a catalyst gets influenced by Jupiter - and the results of Jupiter can be expected in Raahu main and sub periods. During Jupiter main and sub periods - influence of Jupiter for mundane affairs will be fruitful while the spiritual and religious activities the period will not be congenial. If the Jupiter is strong - native believes in the existence of God / superior power but may not believe in the procedure for worship.

The debatable point is - whether a supreme benefic like Jupiter can get afflicted by Raahu - or
can be a catalyst like Raahu carries the benefits of Jupiter. It is to be decided on the merits of each chart at every time.

According to Lal Kitab - if Jupiter and Ketu are in the 12th house
raat aaraam ameeree uttam, baakee asar sab uttam ho
baap guru to ketu betaa , paath-pooja shubh hotaa ho
buddh madad jab un ko detaa, lekh vidhaataa khultaa ho

Means - He will be rich, will not bother about the next day. All results will be good. If the combination gets any help from mercury then the destiny will get awakened. For such a person doing pooja-paath [or being religious] will be always beneficial.

This combination in the 12th house will be very conducive for his spiritual pursuits.

When Guru is in Yuti with Raahu is called Guru Chaandaal Yog. In your case it is in your 9th House. Guru and Raahu both are also known for spirituality and 9th House also being Dharm Sthaan, in your case it will give you desire for pilgrimage, visiting spiritual places, associating with spiritual conscious people, being Dhaarmik and also desire to take initiation/ Deekshaa. It also gives different results in various houses. If it is in 12H, it will give results like exploiting the association of other god brothers when associated with a spiritual organization.

Raahu in 9th House is in Maaran Kaarak Sthaan. Generally in 9th House, Raahu brings Durbhaagya. But in many cases I have seen Raahu in 9th House, causes ending one's Dharm. Many times, with other good combinations in the horoscope, the native does not believe in any particular religion. However,  Guru Chaandaal Yog in 9th House is good, as by just strengthening Jupiter, one can come out of the problems of Raahu in 9th House.

Why must this Chaandaal Yog be so tied-in to the 6th House alone? This person whose data I gave earlier, has Jupiter and Ketu in his 12th House. He does not really have much faith in his teachers and much respect either for those that he has found so far. For pretty good reasons! Now, why should that be?

According to Vaidik Jyotish when Guru (Jupiter) is with Raahu or Ketu, it is known as Guru Chaandaal Yog. Because of this, Jaatak's character may be at stake and he can be involved in some immoral and illegal actions. Some astrologers believe that this Yog makes a Jaatak very much materialistic and to fulfill his all desires he wants to earn a lots of money and that is why he gets involved in some immoral or illegal acts. They also believe that, not only being together (Yuti) but even if Ketu is related to Guru in any way, he can make a Jaatak violent, fanatically religious, or Paakhandee; and he becomes a nuisance to his surrounded people.

But this Yog does not affect all Jaatak in this way, many Jaatak have good solid character because of which they are regarded in the society. For example if an auspicious Guru and auspicious Raahu are situated in the 5th House of any chart, they make the Jaatak an effective person in the society, social server, saint, developed spiritual aspirant, and that is why they are respected in their society. Inauspicious Guru and inauspicious Ketu Yog make a Jaatak a person of hatred; while the good Yog makes him serving the people.

That is why one should know the good and bad aspects of both the planets before one should foretell any thing about a Jaatak of this Yog,
