People say that Raahu is the enemy of the Sun and the Moon. But in true sense, you are just playing with them. No one can separate him from the Sun and the Moon.

Raahu is born in Rohinee Nakshatra and Rohinee is the Nakshatra owned by Moon.
On the other hand the Sun also finds himself mighty in Raahu's birth Nakshatra.
So how can anyone say that they are his enemies?
Sun gets exalted in Mesh Raashi where he has his first Nakshatra Ashwinee.

All senses are ruled by Raahu. All perceptions, all perceptive powers and organs of perceptions are ruled by Raahu. Only Raahu, due to his perceptive powers, can appreciate, smell, describe beauty, describe the taste, experience the texture, hear the sound and can speak. If he is not kind, he will not allow anyone to breath. He is at the base of all attractions. If his help is not there as a lord of Chemistry and Chemical Reactions, man and woman would not be pulled to each other by unknown forces. He is the potential power in everything. He causes things to happen. He is the cause of all causes.

O Raahu, you block things, so you are the cause of diseases where any system is blocked. (Cholesterol blocking the blood vessels is Raahu blocking those blood vessels).
O Raahu, You are the easiest planet to please.

--Raahu, being a great lover of beauty wants to stay near Venus,
--So the next star Bharanee belongs to Venus
--Raahu is Yoni-Mukh, so he loves the 4th House (Moon's House) very dearly. Thus 4th House is Yoni-Mukh.
--Hence it is but natural that 5th house is connected to 4th. The 5th House is the Garbh Sthaan. Demon Raahu guards the Garbh Sthaan.
--Vishnu's Dwaarpaals (guards) are two Demons - Jaya and Vijaya.
--In fact Raahu who is hairy and black, guards over all the openings of our body. Every single small sweat pore is covered with hair - nose, ears, eyes, mouth, private parts are all guarded by Raahu.

How far Brahmaa can go without Raahu? Brahmaa is the creator. He created this world. But how? Remember, in the beginning there was nothing except Taamas. This is the Yog Nidraa Swaroop of Vishnu. Out of that Swaroop was born Brahmaa. He has 4 Mukh, he created 4 Ved, he lords over 4 Yug. Mark the number 4 here. That is Raahu's number. Brahmaa knows all the Kaal.

Numerology for Raahu
In numerology, M, D and T stand for number 4. Rahu and Ketu have 4 letters in their names.

--Raahu lords over Mad, Moh, Matsar, Madiraa, and Maans - all starting with letter M. M also stands for Maayaa, Rahu is Maayaavee. M stands for Mastak (Head). Raahu is Head. That is why you have maximum hair over head. M stands for Mrityu - the End. Maithun (sacred act of reproduction) is under Raahu's domain. Mesh Raashi is the beginning Raashi and starts with M too. Raahu rules Liquor, Anger, Lust, Flesh and Ego.

D stand for Death, Demons, Daitya, D Company, Danger, Downfall, Drowning in anything, Dryness of throat (thirst or thirst for anything which can never be quenched), all are ruled by Raahu. Durbhaagya (Bad Luck) is Raahu for you.

T also stands for Time. Raahu lords over Kaal. T stands for Terror, so Terrorists are governed by Raahu. T means Truth - Truth is always naked. It hurts. But like Raahu, it wins ultimately. Satyameva Jayate.

Japanese who call their nation as Land of the Rising Sun, dread number 4. They associate this number with death, bad luck etc. Even number 13, which is also 4, is a dreaded number for most Christians.

Statements and Proofs About Raahu
I have made a statement that Raahu is the Yonimukh.
I have made the statement that Raahu loves to be in 4th House.
I have made a statement that 5th House is the Garbh Sthaan .
I have made a statement that Raahu is the felicitator of Union between male and a female.
I have made a statement that Raahu is the lord of chemistry of Attraction.

The best way to prove what I have written is by searching for the failures and problems in marriage and married life in a horoscope by making a hitherto never attempted Lagna called Yoni Lagna (I have just coined this term). Yoni Lagna means Keeping Raahu in Lagna Sthaan and then analyzing the horoscope for success or failure and problems in marital life. I request you all to use the above points with similar horoscopes with you and check if the theory put forth by me is holding or not.

Basic rules are,
(1) Raahu will be Yoni Lagna occupier and the focal point. All combinations are to be viewed from this point.
(2) Look for affliction of 2nd and 8th Houses from Raahu and Ketu.
(3) Look for the 7th Lord from Raahu and his affliction.
(4) Look for the 2nd House Lord from Raahu spoiled by Sun, or Mars, or Saturn, or Guru.
(5) Look for affliction of Raahu and Ketu by aspect or association. (This disturbs perceptions about each other)
(6) Look for Saturn or Mars or Sun in 12th from Raahu

The reason I have included 2nd house affliction from Raahu and Ketu is, that they represent the Garbh and also Thinking.

Since Raahu, according to me is the Kaarak of the above, the chemistry between the two beings also plays an important part. If it does not work, people are not attracted towards each other and the marriage falls apart. See example of Julia Roberts in Dhan Yog

Raahu: Kaarak of Wealth
I am bringing yet another aspect of Raahu as the Absolute Kaarak of wealth. I will only quote a very well known young astrologer who wrote this in his Yahoo group in 1999 while replying in defense of some theory.

“None of us has a perfect understanding of Jyotish and our tools are far from perfect. Some may be too proud to accept this, but this is the truth. We are all trying to improve constantly. I too have attempted many puzzles before, some successfully and some with failure and know the limitations very well. Let us show respect for someone for trying and improve collectively, rather than criticizing someone."

Raahu: As 2nd House's Absolute Kaarak
The more I look at Raahu's role in our lives, the more I am convinced that there is more to Raahu than what is attributed to him. Raahu as a Demon with only head, and all evils ascribed to him seem to be born more out of Pauraanik depiction of Raahu as cheating Raakshas.

It is but human nature to paint any shade into a darker and darker shade. A small time thief becomes a demonic murderer or cheat etc once the story is told and retold over a period of time. Everything fair in color is seen as fair, beautiful, good and benign in nature and everything black is associated with worse things you can imagine. Thus black people are termed as cheats, crooks, dumb, fools, low in caste, of low character, menials, diseased etc. This obsession with dark and black has been well adopted by astrologers of yore times. Thus Saturn, Raahu and Ketu have become Mlechchh, Shoodra, thieves, laborers, crooks, and whatever bad you can think of.

So when it came to allotting Kaarakatwa, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury and Sun took the best of the portfolios. Rules of astrology were formed to fit their brightness. Sometimes square pegs were put in round holes. Brihaspati, the Dev-Guru, supposed to be of most benign nature, intelligent and Kaarak of wealth was given many portfolios. Out of that, portfolio of the 2nd house was also given to him. But when they found that Guru, even though was made the Kaarak for the House of wealth, whenever he was in 2nd House, the man turned into a pauper, lost wealth or suffered financially. How can a minister of finance occupying his own office in the place ruled by him destroy the finances of the country?

They also found that BAD Shani, increased wealth when placed in the 2nd House. It is like a menial low caste servant occupying the seat of finance in the ministry increase the wealth of the country. How paradoxical

So the old Astrologers belonging to Brihaspati's Kul (Braahman) made a rule to explain.

Bhaav Naash Karo Jeev, Bhaav Vriddhi Karau Shani:

Meaning, Jupiter destroys the House he occupies and Saturn increases the House he occupies. I remember the story of olden times when a child wanted Moon, the mother brings a plate of water and asks the child to take the reflection of Moon." And since the child believes in Mother, he accepts that Moon and stops crying. People accepted all the so called Exceptions to the rule without questioning. In respect to Brihaspati, I found that he is a misfit in most of the places he sits. So I read Kaarakatwa, nature, description etc of Raahu and came to conclusion that the 2nd House being the most important house in a horoscope, surpassing even the 9th, 10th, 5th etc Houses, should be lorded over by Raahu.

You may ask "Why Only Raahu?"
Because, Raahu, as I said before, rules over all impulses, organs of impulses or inputs like nose, skin, ears, mouth eyes etc. All these are in Head. He rules over mouth, openings, Chhidra (holes or Indriya Dwaar). Major Chhidra are in head and on face - eyes, ears, mouth, nose. These four major Indriyaan are Raahu's weapon. Remember he loves number 4. With mouth, food or energy etc goes in and speech comes out. Nose is for inhaling and exhaling air. The 2nd House rules over coming and going. Raahu as the Lord of the Dwaar or door, allows things to go in or come out. All inputs given by these four perceiving organs (Indriyaan) are passed on to brain (head). Hence Raahu must lord over 2nd House.

2nd house denotes, speech, wealth, supporting others including family, truth and falsehood (Raahu), tongue, eyes, nose, throat, diamond, gold, silver, gems, perfumes, garments, copper, determination, trade, softness of speech, efforts in acquiring wealth and riches and the means adopted also, miserliness, oratorical ability, modesty, firmness of mind, rules of coming and going, power of living etc. (Uttar Kaalaamrit)

To acquire wealth, you need best usage of inputs of information, best utilization of resources, ability to speak, ability to plan, capacity to manipulate, ability to fight and win over opponents and a strong luck. Ability to change colors, deception capability etc. Since Raahu fitted the bill because he can do all the above and much more.

Having said that, I need to prove the above. So I placed Raahu as 2nd House Kaarak in 2nd House in all the horoscopes that I took for study with finance as the theme and came out with startling results.

Theory :: With Raahu in 2nd House, resultant Lagna to be known as Dhan Raahu Lagna. It will be known hence forth as DRL.

(1) A person becomes very rich if the Lord of 2nd House from DRL which is occupied by Raahu in exalted position, or in a Kendra or in the 11th House from Raahu.
(2) Lord of DRL, if in exaltation or placed in Kendra or Kon House, produces riches.
(3) Riches to be predicted in 2nd House from DRL, if it is occupied by Lords of any good Kendra or Kon House.
(4) Arudhaa Lagna (AL), Lagna and Janma Lagna if falls in Kendra or Kon House in DRL, wealth to be predicted with good combinations. (As mentioned above)
(5) If DRL Lord or the Lord of the 2nd House which is always occupied by Raahu, are placed in bad places or aspected by Shani, Raahu, or spoiled by Avayog Kaarak (3rd, 6th, 8th or 12th Lords) the person suffers due to lack of wealth.
