Bhushund questioned Lord Kaalaagni Rudra: "What is the beginning of Rudraaksh beads? What is the benefit of wearing them on the body?"

Lord Kaalaagni Rudra answered him thus: "I closed my eyes for the sake of destroying the Tripura Asuras. From my eyes thus closed, drops of water fell on the earth. These drops of tears turned into Rudraakshas.

By the mere utterance of the name of 'Rudraaksh', one acquires the benefit of giving ten cows in charity. By seeing and touching it, one attains double that benefit. I am unable to praise it any more.

I closed my eyes for 1,000 celestial years. Then from my eyelids, drops of water dropped down and attained the state of immobility for blessing the devoted persons. This Rudraaksh destroys the devotees' sins that are committed both night and day, by wearing it.

By mere vision of the Rudraksha, the benefit will be say, a lac; but by wearing them, it will be a crore. Why, it will be equal to hundred crores. But it will be a thousand lacs of crores and hundred lacs of crores times powerful when one does Japa with Rudraksha and wears it at all times.

Among Rudrakshas, one as big as Aamalaa fruit (myrobalan), is considered to be the best. One as big as the Badaree fruit (Indian berry) is considered to be of the middle sort. But that as big as Chana (Bengal gram) is considered to be the worst of all. This is my idea about the size of Rudraaksh beads.

The four kinds of people, Braahmans, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shoodras are born as merely a worthless burden on the earth. The real Brahmin is the white Rudraaksh, the red Rudraaksh is a Kshatriya, the yellow one is a Vaishya, and the black one is a Shoodra. Therefore, a Braahman should wear white Rudrakshas, a Kshatriya the red, a Vaishya the yellow and a Shoodra the black.

One should use those Rudraksha-beads which are nice, handsome, strong, big, auspicious and thorny. One should avoid those eaten by worms, broken, without thorns, and having sores.

The self-holed Rudraaksh is of the best variety, but that which is holed by man's attempt, is considered to be worse. Those best Rudraaksh should be strung in white thread. A worshipper of Shiv should wear Rudraaksh all over the body. He should wear one bead on the chest, 300 round the head, 36 round the neck, 16 round each arm, 12 round the chest and 500 round the waist. He should wear a Yagyopaveet consisting of 108 beads of Rudraaksh. He should wear two, three, five or seven Maalaas of Rudraaksh round the neck.

A Shiv-Bhakt should wear Rudraaksh round his crown, ear-ring, chain, round the ear, armlet, at all times, and specially round the stomach, irrespective of the fact whether he is sleeping, drinking, etc. If the devotee wears 300 beads, it is the worst; if he wears 500 it will be medium, but 1,000 will be the best of all.

The devotee, when wearing Rudrakshas on the head, should repeat his Ishta Mantra, and when wearing them round the neck, should repeat the Tat-Purush Mantra and when wearing round the throat, should repeat the Aghora Mantra. The same Mantra (Aghora) should be recited when wearing round the chest also. He should wear them round the arms with the Aghora Beej Mantra."

Then again Bhushund Jee asked Lord Kaalaagni Rudra: "What are the different forms and effects of Rudraaksh beads? Please tell me about the secret of these blessed ones including their various faces, which is the means of getting rid of all evil."

Lord Kaalaagni Rudra said: "The bead with one face is of the form of the Supreme Truth. A disciplined one (controlling his senses) mingles himself with the one Eternal Truth, after wearing these Rudraksh. The following is a list of different faces of Rudraaksh and their effects:--

3. Tretaagni- Grace of Agni
4. Brahmaa - Grace of Brahmaa

6. Kaarttikeya or Ganesh - Attainment of Chitta-Shuddhi and Gyaan
7. Sapt-maalaa - Attainment of good health and wealth
8. Asht-maatraa (Ashta Vasus) or Gangaa -Grace of these Devataas and becoming truthful
9. Nava-Shakti -Grace of Nine-Shaktis or nine Powers
10. Yama -Attainment of Peace.
11. Ekaadash Rudras -Increase of all kinds of wealth
12. Mahaa Vishnu or 12 Aadityas -Attainment of Moksh
13. Cupid -Attainment of fulfilling desires and grace of Cupid
14. Rudra -Destruction of all diseases

By wearing Rudraksh during eclipses, Vishu Sankranti (the end of Meen and beginning of Mesh Maas - around 13the April), new moon, full moon and other such auspicious days, one is freed of all sins. The base of the Rudraaksh bead is Brahmaa, its navel is Vishnu, its face is Rudra and its hole consists of all gods."

One day Sanat kumaar asked Kaalaagni Rudra: "O Lord! Tell me the rules for wearing Rudraaksh". At that time Nidaagh, Jadbharat, Dattaatreya, Kaatyaayan, Bharadwaaj, Kapil, Vashishth, Pippalaad, etc Muni came to Kaalaagni Rudra. Then Lord Kaalaagni Rudra asked them why they all had come in a group. They all answered that they came to hear the method of wearing Rudraaksh.

Kaalaagni Rudra said: ----
• Those that are born out of Rudra's Akshis (eyes) are called Rudraaksh. When these beads are even once touched by hand, one attains the glory of giving in charity two thousand cows at a time.

• When they are worn in ears, he gets the effect of giving out eleven thousand cows in charity. He also attains the state of the eleven Rudra.

• When the beads are worn on the head, one has the benefit of giving a crore of cows in charity. Of all these places, I am unable to tell you the benefit when worn in the ears.

• Whoever studies this Rudraaksh Jaabaal Upanishad, be he a boy or a youth, becomes great. He becomes the Guru of all and the teacher of all Mantras. Havan and Archanaa should be done with these Mantras (of the Upanishad).

• That Brahmin who recites this Upanishad in the evening, destroys the sins committed during day time; who recites at noon, destroys the sins of six births; who recites in the morning and evening, destroys the sins of many births. He attains the same benefit of doing six thousand lacs of Gaayatree Mantra Jap.

• He becomes purified from all sins of killing a Brahmin, drinking toddy, stealing gold, approaching Guru's wife, having intercourse with her, speaking with corrupted person, etc etc. He gets the benefits of all pilgrimages and river- baths. He attains Shiv-saayujya. He does not come back (to rebirth).

Rudraaksh and Astrology

According to Yogees and astrologers , Rudraaksh are very influential in removing bad effects of the planets. Gems are used specially for removing the bad effects of planets . But if they are unable to pacify the evil influence, it is most advisable to wear Rudraaksh described in the following lines. Then not only planets are pacified but comfort and pleasure also come to its wearer and he becomes a favorite of Lord Shiva. Therefore a man must know which Rudraaksh will be useful to him.

1-Mukhee and 12-Mukhee Rudraaksh
Both these Mukhees are represented by Sun or Soorya the center of the Solar system around which all the planets revolve. These Mukhees effectively control the malefic effects of Sun. Astrologically they are said to cure the malefic effects of Sun in Physical level such as Diseases of Right eye, Headache, ear ailments, Bowel problems, Bone weakness etc and in the spiritual level such as lack of Confidence, Charisma ,Personal power, leadership qualities and Prosperity. The Sun is pleased with the wearer and any obstacles in his path to lead a rich and powerful life is removed

2-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The ruling planet is moon. They effectively control the malefic effects of Moon such as diseases of Left eye, kidney, intestine in physical level and in the spiritual level such as lack of harmony in relationship etc.

3-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The ruling planet is Mars which astrologically represent Agni or fire. Malefic effects are disease of blood, blood pressure, weakness, disturbed menstrual cycle, kidney etc .in the physical level and in the spiritual level such as Depression, negative feelings, Guilt feelings, Inferiority complexes etc.

4-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The ruling planet is Mercury . In mythology this represents Goddess Saraswati and Brahma. . Malefic effects of mercury include intellectual dullness of mind, lack of grasping and understanding power, difficulty in effective communication and also neurotic conditions of mind. This Mukhee nullifies the malefic effects of mercury and pleases Goddess Saraswati. This Mukhee also governs logical and concrete and structural thinking.

5-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The ruling planet is Jupiter. This planet governs knowledge and glamour , bone-marrow , liver, feet , thigh , religion , money and material . Malefic effect of Jupiter is considered to cause lack of peace of mind, utter poverty, lack of harmony , diseases of fat , Kidney , thigh , ear ., diabetes etc . This Mukhee is therefore suggested to sublimate the malefic effects of Jupiter .

6-Mukhee Rudraaksh
It’s ruling planet is venus. Venus governs Genital organs Throat, Valor , Sexual pleasure, Love , Music etc. It’s malefic effects can cause diseases and problems in above .

7-Mukhee Rudraaksh
This Mukhee governs Saturn .This Mukhee sublimates the malefic effects of Shani such as Disease & Death occurring suddenly without any cause ,impotency ,cold , obstruction, hopelessness, Despair, delay in achievements, long time disease ,scarcity ,worry etc.

8-Mukhee Rudraaksh
Ruling planet is Rahu hence helpful in sublimating the malefic effects of Rahu. It’s malefic effects are similar to that of Shani or Saturn as in 7 Mukhee . It is held responsible for causing sudden effects , diseases of lung , feet , skin , eye catarrhisis, hydrocel , airtracia etc . Snake bites are also the result of malefic effects of Rahu .

9-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The ruling planet is Ketu which is a shadow planet like Rahu and it resembles Mars ..This Mukhee is beneficial to sublimate the ill effects of Ketu . Ketu inflicts the diseases of lung, fever , eye-pain , bowel pain , skin disease , body pain etc .

10-Mukhee Rudraaksh
This Mukhee has no ruling planets and is held to control all planets .The wearer gets a sense of security.

11-Mukhee Rudraaksh
Has no particular ruling planet. It induces courage and confidence in the wearer to leads an adventurous life. Also helpful in meditation and removes problem of Yogic practices .

12-Mukhee Rudraaksh
Ruling planet is Sun. Effects as mentioned initially effect as for 1 Mukhee.

13-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The effects similar to that of 6 Mukhee . It is helpful for meditation and spiritual attainments. It is suggested to cause material upliftment.

14-Mukhee Rudraaksh
Ruling planet is Saturn . Improves intuitive thinking . It is held to sublimate the malefic effects of Saturn.

15-Mukhee Rudraaksh
The impact on wearers mind by this bead is similar to that of 14-Mukhee like improving Intuitive ,Abstract and Lateral thinking in addition the wearer finds high energy levels to put into action his thoughts and ideas.

Astrologically, there exists the following correlations among different Nakshatras, planets and faces of Rudraaksh.

Only for 1-Mukh Rudraaksh, Shiv Puraan says that it shall be worshipped. For all other 13 types of Rudraaksh it says Dhaaran i.e. wearing. However, if a person is Saatvik and has no vices and can maintain the sanctity of the 1-Mukh rRudraaksh, he can also wear it. Even though the Kaajoo type 1-Mukh Rudraaksh is available for just around Rs 2,000, the oval 1-Mukh Rudraaksh from Indonesia is available up to Rs 10,000. The round Nepalese 1-Mukh Rudraaksh has never been sold by any person anywhere in the world. Hence the Indonesian oval 1-Mukh is the best. Some of these are almost round in shape. Rudraaksh is Lord Shiv himself. The 11-Mukhee Rudraaksh represents Lord Hanumaan and it would be good if you can do 3, 5 or 7 times Hanumaan Chaaleesaa every day. I would even recommend a 14-Mukhee Rudaaksh but it is very expensive and same work is done by 11-Mukhee Rudraaksh so better to go for 11-Mukhee Rudraaksh.

Another thing is that an original Rudraaksh never floats on water because it is a fruit and not wood, so check this also because along with Rudraaksh there is also Bhadraaksh and Indonesian Rudraaksh so be careful when you go to buy a Rudraaksh. Always select Nepalese Rudraaksh or Rudraaksh which is Government recognized, or from Rishikesh and certificated.

Rudraksh has a lot of power in it and can fight any black magic and along with it you also need to do Hanumaan Chaaleesaa for internal power this both things will help you a lot because from your question I understand what you want and don't worry where there is god there is no evil.

Name of a berry dried and used for making rosaries. Indian Jyotish System (Vaidik astrology) has its medicinal value also. There are several types of Rudraaksh available used for various kinds of diseases. Their genuineness is questionable.

Shiv Puraan describes Rudraksh's origin as Lord Shiv's tears. He had been meditating for many years for the welfare of all creatures. Lord Siva is also known as Rudra and the Lord of Tears. The meaning of the name Rudra is traceable to the Vedas and said to be derived from rud (dravayita) he who drives away sin or suffering.

Eight different aspects of nature are the direct manifestations of Rudra and they are Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space, The Sun, The Moon and the Life Force. Anything good and auspicious, anything that keeps us healthy and happy and anything that helps us attain freedom from pain and misery is Rudra.

Sri Rudram is one of the five scriptural texts chosen by the ancients for constant repetition and meditation. The five are the Upanishads of one's own Sakha - The Bhagavad Gita, The Vishnu Sahasranaam, Sri Rudram and Purush Sooktam. Vaidik Literature states - as by pouring water at the root of a tree, all its branches are nourished, by pleasing Sri Rudra through Rudra Jap, all the Devas are pleased. One attains Bhukti and Mukti, enjoyment of life as well as freedom from the ills of the world by the chanting of Sri Rudram with devotion

To the Rudra who is in fire, who is in water, who is in trees and plants, who has entered into the entire universe, to that Rudra let our salutations go Vaidik Literature shows that the Rudraaksh Bead was created from the tears of Rudra, the fierce form of Lord Siva thus endowing it with medicinal and Spiritual Powers. Each of the many types of Rudraaksh Beads have a governing Deity and specific powers and properties. Two of the most important rules to be observed in the Asta Aavaran that are the eight aids or protections are the uttering of the five syllable formula or Mantra that is Namah Shivaay and the wearing of the Sacred Rudraaksh.

Rudraaksh As Remedy
Rudraaksh is regarded as medicine in Aayur Ved. It is warm and humid in temperament; some persons regard it cold also. It tastes bitter. It is used not only to wear on different parts of the body, but it can also be used as Oral medicine and for besmearing externally. Many doctors, Vaidyas, scientists and ascetics use it. Some of them are as follows :-
It is the destroyer of worms and it gives brilliancy to the body. It pacifies Vaat (air), Pitta (bile) and cough automatically. It is also useful for women in pregnancy. Rudraaksh is a good medicine for skin diseases. In leprosy of both the kinds it can be used. It effects as a medicine to cure sores, ringworm, pimples, boils and it is useful in burns also.

Rudraaksh is the most useful for the patients of blood pressure. It does not let it go up or down. It keeps the BP normal. For this Rudraaksh Maalaa should be worn so close that it should touch the heart. It is sure that it’s wearer can never fall prey to a sudden heart attack, shrinking of heart or brain hemorrhage. The patient of blood pressure should keep the five faced Rudraaksh in water filled in a glass vessel throughout the night and should drink it as soon as he gets up in the morning. By doing so the person would have normal Blood pressure.

The children, who are mostly sick with fever, should wear three faced Rudraaksh.

In Chechak (typhus) Rudraaksh seed and black pepper having equal weight should be ground and sieved through a cloth-sieve. This powder should be drunk with stale water to cure Chechak.

Cough is cured fully if the powder of ten faced Rudraksha is rubbed and licked with milk thrice a day.

Hysteria, Coma, Leucorrhoea and female diseases related to genital organs can be cured by wearing 3 (three) beads of six faced Rudraaksh.

All the diseases relating to the mind and brain are cured by drinking milk that is boiled with four faced Rudraaksh. It increases memory also.
